The SMB-02G is the direct successor to PHONON’s long-selling SMB-02 headphones, which have fans all over the world. The SMB-02G was developed by mastering engineer and PHONON representative Isao Kumano with the studio professional in mind.
The diaphragm is made of Nomex, a material used in high-end speakers, and delivers upgraded sound quality while inheriting the sonic characteristics of the SMB-02.
You will enjoy the natural ultra-low frequency range and the acoustic space created by PHONON’s unique technology. The free edge structure of the diaphragm, with its high response and low energy loss, provides a wide dynamic range and frequency response that fully covers the high-resolution band. The tuning technology PHONON has cultivated over the years has made it possible to reproduce sound closer to the raw sound, and through repeated playback of various reference discs, the best acoustic balance has been achieved regardless of genre.
The SMB-02 has a detachable cable, while the optional semi-open plate is also available to allow users to enjoy both sealed dynamic and semi-open sound with one unit.
To coincide with the release of the AIR JORDAN1 BRED, we have collaborated with atmos to create the PHONON SMB-02G headphones in original colors, which will be available exclusively at atmos.
